Uzlasot dziesmas izlasei kaut kas ar pirmo albumu ierakstiem uzreiz negāja, pārtraucu tos, ņēmu tālākos digitālos. Kad tie nu bija kārtībā, atgriezos pie analogajiem. Izdevās. Sāku visu nu pēc kārtas klausīties. Sajutu ritam kaut ko visai autobiogrāfisku.. Un mirklī, kad pēdējo albumu 'stāsta pavediens' aprāvās - pārejot uz iesākuma pirmajiem - tas nevis beidzās, bet pārdabiskā nozīmē it kā turpinājās - spirāles gājienā.. Es sajutu - stāsts ir šedevrs... - kuru gan neviens cits neizlasīs... Atmiņā uzausa bērnībā lasītā mazā, skaistā Balzaka grāmatiņa..

Picking up songs for the compilation, something went wrong with my recordings of the first albums. So I stopped here and switched to the further digital ones. Being done with them I turned back to the analogues. Ok. Then I started listening to all of the songs. I felt something autobiographical scrolling by.. At the moment of finishing the late albums' 'story thread' - switching to the first ones - it unnaturally did not feel interrupted, it continued in some spiralling way.. I felt - the story is going to be a masterpiece... - which no one will be able to read... and in my memory rose up a small, beautiful book by Balzac..

This is powerful stuff – stylistically maybe avant-pop, maybe folktronica, but it doesn’t matter: anyone who likes a certain kind of mood could get hooked. The lyrics are haunting, Kafkaesque. For instance, Citā dzīvē envisions taking a ticket and waiting in line to re-register oneself in a different life. You can feel something like this in the very rhythm / melody. Cameron Toll
